This summed up a lot of shit I'm going through as well, especially the 'seeing your grandma get into bad shape and saying NOT FOR ME THANKS' bit. I lift weights for an hour a night and swim laps for the second hour and I've honestly never felt better. Eating strictly has helped a lot too (but jesus christ it's expensive).

I wish I could run, but my feet are so goddamned flat I can't get ten feet without feeling like I'm being punched in the chest. Balls.

Well put and well said!

I prefer the % of body fat rule to BMI. I noticed when I was almost 300 lbs, but maxing out the leg press at the gym that the BMI grid states in little bitty letters that it does not apply to people who lift weights regularly!

I really wish I could afford to go to the gym! I adored the way it made me feel (and would occasionally make people stare when I laughed as I got off a machine). But first, a job.

As far as the donut thing goes... if anyone were to make a doughnut shot, I'd suspect http://voodoodoughnut.com/ (which makes some mighty tasty donuts!) *grin*

God I miss the gym. I'm thinking that I may be able to start jogging again soon, my asthma's been controlled for so long and while I can't afford the gym, a little jog around the block would be nice.
