I absolutely love the bit about why Sherlock needs him and this:
Explaining would have been so much more difficult, and putting a name to what John really was would be more difficult still.

As many times as I read it re-writing and editing, I never managed to become immune to the lure of the pasta. It's kind of amazing.

I'm sorry to say that I'm every bit as immune to foodporn as I am to normal porn (making me... afoodie? :p ), but this was still fantastic just for their relationship, Sherlock looking after John, and that line. It's perfect.
