It seems that my pile of thesis research has started some sort of minor border dispute with my pile of grad school apps. It is really the only way I can explain how my floor ended up covered in papers when I wasn't looking.

I may have to call in UN peacekeepers if the library books become embroiled in the conflict.

Meanwhile, inquiring minds want to know: who exactly is the "tea boy" in your buddy icon? (And which side of this conflict would he be on?)

Also, I'd like to commiserate a bit since my couch, table, a chair, and several areas of my floor look rather similar to what you described. But you have a lot more of an excuse, since the stuff on your floor is actually being used for something constructive, as opposed to "eh, I don't actually want to deal with this, so I'll stick it here in hopes of coming back to it someday."

I also tell myself that when I get actual legs on my table again (the movers lost them) as opposed to supporting it with one of my computer monitors (in its box), some large books, and a piece of styrofoam, I will then be ready to finish unpacking and organizing myself and so on, but I really shouldn't listen to that nonsense either.

That would be Ianto Jones, adorable Welsh tea boy of Torchwood fame. He, of course, is on the side of the thesis.

Well, at least the coffee hasn't gotten involved yet...

Then Captain Jack might follow, and it would all go to hell in a handbasket from there.

Ah, but the library books are reclusive, and speak mainly to themselves. The real UN big guns are needed when the mugs and glasses start to move in: they have no respect for the territory of others, and will find a home pretty much anywhere. My desk will stand as evidence for this fact!
