Zoe costume

Two of my friends (Matt and Jen) and I have decided to go Firefly this year at Dragon*Con. Matt's going to be Mal Reynolds, Jen's going to be Kaylee and I'm going to be Zoe during the day and Inara for the Shindig. I've got almost my entire Zoe costume completed and I wanted to post photos of it, cause I'm pretty damn proud of the thing

Neat! :) Good idea for the curls, they look fab :D I'm thinking of bringing my Kaylee from last year ('cause by the time Con rolls around, I might actually have long enough hair for the buns, unlike last year ;))

That's why Jen picked Kaylee. She has the most gorgeous long hair and she can get it up in the buns.

I'm so happy I don't have to wear a wig. I did that once for a play and my head itched so badly the whole time.

Thank you! I so wish I could take credit for making the whole thing, but all of it was purchased. I do think I'm going to remake the vest, because this one is not quite the right fit for me and the straps on the sides are all really weak. But I'll use this one as a template.

Very nice! It's always such a rush to find bits of costuming that WORKS! Your hair looks great, too. An I have to agree- wigs itch like mad!

Thank you! Last year, dr_is_in and I put together three costumes for me in about two months, including Pregnant!Bride Gwen from Torchwood. This year I'd rather take my time.

You would not believe how happy I was about the boots. Dancing around my flat, I was.
