I have an iBook (got it last summer before MY freshman year). They don't really sell those anymore -- now they just sell Macbooks and Macbook Pros. The Macbook pro'll probably last you longer.

Reasons Mac is superior:
--They don't get viruses. They don't. Period.
--You can still use a lot of your PC software on Macs -- Microsoft Word and all that. The Mac version of Word is SO much better.
--Mac customer support (make sure you buy an AppleCare protection plan along with it) is pretty amazing. If there's a hardware problem, they'll fix it.
--Macs are prevalent on college campuses now. It seems like everyone's got one.
--They're really user-friendly. It might be a little bit of an adjustment after a lifetime of PC use, but most people say they can't go back. And regardless of what people say, you CAN right-click on a Mac -- it's just control-click.
--They just look cool :]

hey babe, i haven't talked to you in a while, but i hope you're enjoying getting ready for school & everything hahah.

as far as computers go .......... MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC. etc. you will get FUCKED by a windows computer without a doubt. haha. i have a macbookpro & i could not be happier - i had a powerbook last year & i have ZERO problems when all my windows friends constantly had all those AIM viruses & random crashing etc. no problems here. they are amazing.

digital cameras - go with canon or nikon. sony is only but if you drop it it will scratch like nobody's business. trust me, i've had a canon (lost it), a sony (looks like shit), & now a nikon (beautiful). photo is one of my multipul majors as well :) definitely canon or nikon.

oh & funny fact - once you get to college you might be humored to how north face takes over the college population. haha.

anyway good luck - if you want any more advice i'd be happy to give ya some :)

well it's exciting stuff. haha. the 'getting ready for college' process is pret-ty crazy.
whats the major diff. between a pro and a regular macbook? the pros just seem RIDICULOUSLY more expensive.
i had a sony camera, and after a year of it, the picture quality basically went to shit. all my pictures are blurry all of a sudden. ridiculously annoying.
and i know all about the north face fleece fury. but im okay with it. they're so comfortable.
anything you recommend i bring that i'll probably forget to?

1. i am SO jealous. i want a macbook for my birthday, but daddy says i can't get one until next summer.

1. id wait until next summer for the macbook anyway -- apparently theyre still a little rough around the edges with the intel chip. so by next summer, you should be all set. and theres christmas too. maybe you could convince him to get one for you for that!
2. ahhh cedar point. ill probably be going in between then too. so i will def. let you know. although i just watched final destination 3, and the idea of roller coasters is a little bit scary.
3. mmm pf chang's = love. lettuce wraps and banana springrolls = love.
4. i need to get trashed so badly. i've been drunk twice, and the second time totally doesnt count. fuck.
5. i want a cute, small, camera thats not gonna become a piece of shit in a year. my sony just like died. the picture quality has gone down the shitter. definitely.
