Gratitude Project 2006

This week has been weird. On the one hand, no more classes, so yay! On the other hand, I am now very broke, and have thus picked up lots and lots of hours at the hospital (my per diem job where I have not worked at all since May). Between that fact and the lovely thunderstorms of the past couple of days, not so much with the online time ( Read more... )

WB!

The van - it could be the distributor cap assuming those still exist in modern engines and have not gone the way of the carberator. ;-)

You want to know the real kicker? It has started fine *every* time for the guys at the service shop.

In fact, though it required jumpstarting 3 times in under 18 hours (the first two times seemed easily explained by overuse of the a/c, and leaving other stuff turned on when switching off the engine, plus they happened in the parking lot at work, the last time was on the road) each and every one of those times, I was the driver. So apparently it just won't start for me. I don't think I'll be volunteering to take people on tonight's outing, since clearly I'm jinxed.

LOL. I remember having intermittent troubles with that eons ago and the battery was replaced, etc. It turned out on time when a guy came to jump he looked further under the hood and it was the distributor cap. It has been slowly working its way loose (proven by the rust on its underside) which caused the intermittent problems when it got jiggled. Eventually it came off all the way and that's when this guy investigated anf found the easily fixable issue. It was odd even to him so that is why I've always remembered it.

But it probably is the driver. ;-)

I love this project--I keep forgetting about it, and I never get online anymore, so it'll be silly to try to participate online.

In other news, Kev turned 20 on the 4th. Yup. Heh. I feel... old.
