Okay, I am a HUGE fan of Anne Bishop, so I am going to comment with my own theory: Roxie was never actually touched by the taint of Dorothea or Hekatah, thus the sparing. I think part of the point of the story was to also indicate that things would not just be perfect after Jaenelle did the spell. I also think this is how to look at Lektra: things aren't anywhere near perfect in the Realms.
*taunt* I'm reading Sebastian right now, her newest, as in came out officially yesterday. Is goooood.
Yeah, I guess I get that. It still felt forced or something, though. Which annoys me about myself, because I'm one of those fans that was salivating to know what would happen next, how they would adjust, because clearly "happily ever after" wasn't going to cut it.
A new one, eh? What's the setting? A totally new thing? May have to add that to my list. (May? LOL)
New story and all, Ephemera #1. It's a duology. Some of her themese remain constant: strong women, land connections. The first 10 pages or so are on her site. and it's in HARDCOVER. :)
I think I'm missing reading fiction again. Darn it.
I saw DMF in paperback size the other day and nearly got it. But, I need to hit the rereads. Though, in reality, that's not going to happen until I have my books more accessible than they are. Hrm.
