Because I didn't realize we'd grown up in the same area. My house was on Vernier between Marter and Wedgewood. I actually went to GPUS in 2nd and 3rd grade (this was before the merger) -- didn't like it very much, but that was largely because I had the Teacher From Hell in 3rd grade. I would have graduated from North in 1974 if we hadn't moved to Nashville.
3. What kind of car did you drive? My senior year, I drove an [elided, because it is frequently a security question].
!!
The survey itself was total culture shock - I understood about half of the questions. I'm aware that American teenagers learn to drive hideously young, and that many students do drive themselves to school. But the idea that your first car would be a security question...!!! Only in the US.
I have still never learned to drive or owned a car.
I agree. OTOH, many security questions are culturally narrow in some manner. How many cultural assumptions does "Mother's maiden name" make for example? Or "first pet"?
Or "childhood street name" for Ghu's sake. We moved every two years, I'm lucky if I remember any of them. So I just put other words in, and mark them in a file in case I have to use them.
