there's no time to be down on yourself when you're awesome.

So just before the holidays (November-ish) I've been kind of down on myself for a bunch of stupid reasons. Well, they're all legitimate and sometimes it comes to the surface here in LJ land as "WTF" and/or "FML" posts. For one reason or another my worries have been piling up since last year about the usual ho-hum b.s. everyone deals with all the ( Read more... )

Yer welcome! I actually could have written this post - except the work stuff. My work stuff= less work and the work I'm getting is well BELOW my skill set. Stuff I can do asleep. Going to DC for Dismemberment Plan and seeing hs friends made me think about everything that I don't like about my life(completely disregarding the good stuff) and was super unhealthy and sent me further into a funk. Then I saw that "Fucking Awesome" post(I think Olga put it up originally) I woke up a bit. Also thought about this completely useless bit NPR about how much it actually costs you to keep the stuff you don't really have a need for- from how much square footage it takes up in the house to the added stress of having clutter. Finally purging a TON of stuff- mentally and physically.

Actually, getting ready to post about it to Tumblr...probably after the toddler unit goes to bed. but we'll see if that happens.

priorities change. Like we're getting older or some shit.. Mine are shifting to accommodate a baby for crying out loud! I won't say it's harder, it's just different.. but change is good. Staying healthy is probably the best thing to try out again. If you don't have health, you can't do anything else..

... wanna run the ARMY 10 MILER this year?

Well this is a bummer.

Look at it this way...if all of these things are weighing on you and you're aware of them AND you're taking steps to remedy them, you're more than half way there. As GI Joe taught us in our youth, knowing is half the battle. I'm with Myk...the health is a big thing. It works on two fronts; it makes you feel better, short and long term, and it actually motivates you, gets you up and out of the house. Win win. Here's to being fucking awesome, starting now.
