Few questions for ya, since you're now the dyeing expert. :) And I'll admit, I've wanted to do something like the white/red dress in the bottom panel of this comic, even though that's monstrously ambitious and years away. ;P
1) Isn't Rayon synthetic? I've tried using Rit on synthetic fabrics before and it never seemed to take. Was there anything special you did not suggested on the Rit bottle?
2) On the tutorial, it shows the stitching, but it isn't always pulled tight. Should I assume that each time there's stitching, before it gets dyed, it gets pulled super tight? Also, how do you tie it off so it remains tight (do you have to do at least two lines of threads so you can tie them to each other after tightening)?
3) The intro and last pic (step 9) shows a fabric with a pattern in it, but the top part of the fabric is yellow and the bottom fades to gray. Any clue how they got that faded effect when dyeing?
