The Absolutely Necessary Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Review
So of course, every time I see a new Harry Potter movie or read a new Harry Potter book (which there will be no more of, sadly), I need to update my LJ with my thoughts!!

So I just posted this long description of the mansion and the back of it. I described the balcony in the back, the three levels of the backyard, how the top level has a semi circle that juts out onto the middle level like the prow of a ship; there is even a fountain beneath it that wraps around its length, which would complete the ship metaphor ( Read more... ) -

Tomorrow I will be watching Twilight. I am not looking forward to it but I got yelled at for not being openminded, so now I have to watch it. Hey, I've done a lot of research about it and the plot doesn't just leave me uninterested, but in fact leaves me a little apprehensive... it does not sound like a good children's book, like it sets a good ( Read more... ) -

Today I was walking back from class, when I heard one girl say to another, "So my stupid english teacher gave me a C-!"
I know I've ranted about that kind of comment before, so I won't spend too long on it. I just think it's strange how people are in college and they don't put together the fact that it's the students who do the work -- who hand in ( Read more... ) -

Today is unexpectedly warm. Sitting in my room, relaxing, the warm breeze drifts in and I remember how wonderful the summer is. It brings back memories of the summer sun warm on my back in New Orleans, how the sudden, but brief, rain storm sweeps in and the cool rain drops falling on my arms refresh me and revive my motivation to keep working ( Read more... ) -
Back at College
Today was my first day of classes; had Reading as Writers and Spanish I. Both seem like good classes. I also have an online course, Anthropology of Sex; he already posted the syllabus and the class seems like a lot of work. I'm taking six classes this semester so I'm already a little worried that I might be bogged down with a lot of work. We'll ( Read more... )
