well...not from Osaka...I'm home now. More like...reporting on Osaka? Sure. We'll do the abridged version because...I'm lazy and tired

DUDE!!! I totally saw Wicked last weekend too! The abbridged version in Japanese, huh? Was it fun? I saw a youtube video of Popular in Japanese. It cracked me up that Galinda is trying to teach Elphaba to be, "Genki genki!" rather than teaching her how to do "toss toss" with her hair. XD
I know, which was amusing to me when I was at the park because I was like...across the ocean somewhere Becky's seeing this for real...
It was actually really cool. Aside from what you told me about it, I didn't know much about Wicked, but one of the girls I was with really wanted to see it and I was interested, so we went. Elphie, like I said, was totally gaijin, and she blew the Japanese cast out of the water. It was mostly in Japanese, but Elphie's stuff was either half and half or, get this, English with subtitles! There were little text screens on either side of the stage.
I totally really wanna see it now. The plot ended with Elphie escaping the wizard, but I'm guessing in the real version it goes further because I swear I remember there being like...something with Dorthy involved and escaping with a lover when you guys were playing the soundtrack for me. Imagination?
Yeah, it ended with the end of Act I and "Defying Gravity." HOWEVER, they also mixed in "For Good" from the end of Act II between the two versions of DG, so...*shrug*
It's Japan.
You know, I might have a copy of it d/led somewhere...I have so many BWay boots. If I do, do you want me to up it? The quality's prob pretty crappy, though. And I know I have the Japanese one somewhere....
Yeah, Elphie totally kicked ass, didn't she? OMG, that girl could sing. Wish I know who she was..... so refreshing from all the girls currently screaming their way through the role in the States...X.x
[And Shrek totally gave me a migraine, too. It was the freaky seats!!]
Yeah, I'm lame that I totally only commented on one aspect of your weekend. O_o
I am actually the most curious about how Buddah was right about your luck being poo. Unless you stepping in deer poo. In which case, it makes perfect sense.
well, mainly is was the thing at USJ. Watching the Shrek thing, and getting a migraine. It was a mean little sucker. Lasted from like...5pm until I finally got to sleep around 1ish and it still hadn't gone away. I took Tylenol trying to make it better, which did nothing, and then in desperation, I took some Aleve hoping that I was over that thing where I'm allergic to it ^^; I wasn't. I was miserable for the rest of the evening, puked some, couldn't sleep and was forced to drug myself with NyQuil just so that I could sleep. It was LAME.
Haha, that's a highly awesome post. I kept exloding with laughter, my sister beside me going, "Whaaaat?" Especially getting lost at the Osaka station - I'm guessing it's somewhat large? It sounds like you had fun, hun! Aww for the sad fishies though? AND YOU GOT A ROXAS BRACELET? What's it look like??
Hehe, your report for Nara = love. Deer, huh? Just a couple, then? And... the buddah told you - your luck is poo? Well THAT'S not encouraging! What is deer poo omiyage?
Hehehehehe... you got perved on by a high school student? Niiiice XD Hahaha, I can't even imagine how you'd react to that - especially the hourglass shape? How'd you make asses of yourselves? Yuck for the migraine, though :S And the bad medicine! What was up with it?
Hahaha, and you got lost again. I find it so weird to think of buying curry in Japan... worlds collide! Sounds like you had a cool break, hun ^_^ Good to have you back again!
Yeah...the station...see, me and my friend Jade, are used to Tokyo where everything is frigging HUGE, but there are signs everywhere pointing you in the right direction from like...miles away. It takes a little thinking, but you can find your way around Tokyo stations with relative ease. In Osaka, there are multiple stations with multiple names, some of which are the same station under different names. The signs are not helpful, NOTHING is connected so like...if you want to get from point A to point B you have to travel out of A, find D walk around it, switch back through C and then you might find yourself at B...but more likely you'll be at A again or something ;__

Hey, just passing by. I'll be going to Osaka on Saturday, and wonder whether there're certain places which are a must-go when it comes to buying souvenirs. I have no idea what to look out for and I'll be dragged around by my parents so there's a chance I'll not get to go to places I truly have to when I'm there. Thanks for reading this! Hope you can help/: I'm interested in JE items, Pokemon items (XD), Japanese sweets/snacks and other Japanese omiyage..
Hmm...well, as far as Japanese sweets are concerned, you cannot go to the area without purchasing some yatsuhashi. they're these little triangles of mochi with red bean paste inside...soooo good :droool: This is the omiyage to get in the area.
I don't know that there are places with very much JE stuff in Osaka, but pokemon goods are pretty much everywhere. I unfortunately didn't get to do very much shopping around Osaka, so I don't have anything very solid to offer, but I here there is an electronics district called "Den Den Town" that is worth checking out.
Sorry if this wasn't very helpful. We mainly did the Aquarium and Universal Studios Japan. There is a City Walk there tho if you're interested in shopping ^__^;
