More about these Hollows if that's alright. I thought about what you said and there are some similarities between them and the creatures I was talking about. Enough to worry me.

Well....they're the souls of dead humans who can't or don't go to the afterlife for some reason or another, usually If they don't move on, sooner or later they're going to turn into a giant monster with a hole in its chest and a white mask on its face.
Normal people can't see them. Hell, not everyone who can see ghosts can see them. But they eat souls, usually ghosts, but sometimes living people, too.
