Mom called me at 10:00 this morning to say she was being released. At 3:00 the hospital called me to tell me the same. She still doesn't have her discharge papers and her IV hasn't been removed yet. It's 4:45. WTF?

Probably different doctors. I was told I was moving to the Brain Injury Rehab in another hospital two days before I actually moved, and that was because the first doctor who told me that was the first hospital doctor, the second was the second hospital doctor, and the third, who actually gets to make the decision, was my HMO doctor. They probably need some specific orders from the right person.

Yes, that's usually the case. Not this time though. It was the same doctor, it just took a long time for the paperwork to get processed.

They told me Thursday morning I'd be released from ICU early. Still took 'em six hours. Barely had time to get to a doctor's appointment. I think they lose you in the paperwork.
