In the garden, there are no pretenses, no grudges, no anger. I plant, weed, water and nurture. In return the plants grow, flower and bear fruit. I turn the soil and add compost and in return, worms tunnel through my work, nourishing everything. I keep the plants happy and they give me a peaceful place to rest, at the end of a long day. I have just muddled through the most difficult cycle in a year. The only activities I could tolerate and actually feel non-monstrous were ripping out two walls in my basement and reconstructing my composter and digging through my garden.

I don't know how humans would survive without earth-time.

Window boxes maybe? Or a couple of largish pots you can plants some annuals in?
