We went back to Jake's Place tonight and enjoyed a little over an hour of piano bar with the same two players. Howard requested California Dreaming and Walking in Memphis and they played both. Me too! She'd listened to our many stories of Rose's and hoped one day she could go but then, of course, it closed. She happily sang along with us last night. It made us all very happy to have found a piano bar of sorts.

Their verson of "Memphis" was a bit too fast and not as soulful but I think you would have liked it.

Indeed she does.

I find it really cool to share something that had hitherto been a non-kid moment with my kids as they grow older and can share those sorts of things.

Yes, I felt both those emotions too. Wish we all could have initiated Bree into piano bar, preferably Rose's, together.
