I--Hmm. [Alice looks pointedly at the camera for a moment, biting her lower lip as she contemplates her choice of words.  She almost looks... worried]  Has Luceti ever had a power outage due to snow?

The last time it snowed this much here, there wasn't any power to begin with.

[there's a hushed oh. She'll just have to be prepared then, not that she wasn't always.] That must have been harsh. I can't really imagine this place without electricity.

The electricity was quite an adjustment for most people here. Since we don't know for certain if it will be affected by the weather... since it's likely powered by an outside source to begin with, it's best to be prepared by making sure you have candles, extra blankets, food, and firewood.

[it didn't even cross her mind to gather extra blankets and food, more afraid of the darkness than anything else that a power outage might cause] I think I might just do that, gather extra supplies. Better safe than sorry, after all.

Thank you, Miss...?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, Miss. As long as it's been here, the electricity has been very sturdy.

That's one of the reasons I'm a little worried; it almost seems too good to be true.

I guess I can see where a dosage of healthy skepticism might come in handy once in a while. [ Though he is the man who prefers to ignore such things in favor of photographs and optimism. ]

If someone isn't even a little skeptical about this place, I'd be worried.

None that I've ever heard of.

Doesn't that seem a little worrisome? [maybe she's just being paranoid, but that is weird]

Mmm.. on a whole, their technology is really quite astounding, so I'm sure all this snow isn't going to be much of an issue.

I genuinely hope you're right.

There aren't really any power cables to break or blow down...

I know, but that doesn't mean whatever produces our electricity isn't capable of being damaged.

[Alan heard that question over the journal, knew what prompted it... and he's cursing the fact that he has so little control over the situation here. Back at home, he could just go get a generator, but in a little backwater place that's pretty much a fishbowl, his only hope is that one will show up in the store. He's not about to stoop to asking the Malnosso for one, not yet.

He lingers in the doorway for a moment before putting a smile on his face and strolling casually in, as if he hadn't just been worrying about anything at all.]

Don't worry, honey. There wasn't a candle or a match left in the stores once I was through with them.

[Alice glances from the journal, letting out some relieved sigh to have him back in the apartment. Just thinking about the darkness, potential darkness, was enough to make her feel scared and alone all over again. But with Alan there, everything was all right.

She aims a soft smile in his direction, closing the journal shut. She'd gotten the answers she'd wanted, even learned about the spirits here; that was enough for now.]

My hero. [a short pause as she stands and moves closer to him] What would I do without you?

Well, the bed would be a lot colder, that's for sure.

[His smile turns mischievous as she nears him, and before she can even make a move, he's reaching his arms out to hook her around the waist and pull her close with a laugh.

It's funny, really, how being trapped - kept a prisoner, essentially - by some unknown entities is serving as more of a vacation than any vacation he's had in a while. Probably because she's there with him. As long as they're together, nothing else really matters.]

[She laughs, bright and loud, as he pulls her in, and she loops her arms around his neck, running her fingers through his hair.] That is a damn good reason to keep you around. [her eyes glint with amusement, and she slowly gives him peck near his lips] No girl likes a cold bed.
