The electricity was quite an adjustment for most people here. Since we don't know for certain if it will be affected by the weather... since it's likely powered by an outside source to begin with, it's best to be prepared by making sure you have candles, extra blankets, food, and firewood.

Actually, there is. What can you tell me about [ a short pause as she wracks her brain for the name ] Hyt? I've tried to contact it, but this whole magic business is, well, really unusual for me.
Hyt is the most difficult to contact, so even if you were consistently persistent in your attempts to reach him, it would still be nearly a month, or longer, before the contact would be reciprocated. It's not easy to do in the winter months, when there is less natural light to begin with. It's easiest to try on warm, sunny days, the quieter the spot the better. Eventually the spirit will respond to your reaching out, but gaining the abilities will of course take a little longer, since it's not so willing to teach as some of the others are.
It seems like it. Have you been able to contact any of the others? Perhaps getting used to them might help you more. Nala and Faerin -- they're for healing and earth related magic -- are usually the easiest to hear within a few weeks, and they're more readily available than the others.
Honestly, I haven't tried contacting any of the others. [mostly because she isn't really interested in magic, but the idea of controlling light and having it available whenever she needed it might make her a little less paranoid] But I think you might be right, Ms. Sage. I'll give one of them a try.

That's a little broad, but usually just meditating quietly can help. The earth spirit's presence is very subtle as well -- you can get the feeling that she's timid, afraid to intrude upon you. For her you have to be more open, welcoming. Nala is gentle as well... but far less timid. [Her tone seems almost distracted for a moment.] Her presence is a very calm one, and she's far more eager to share than the others are.

That's a little broad, but usually just meditating quietly can help. The earth spirit's presence is very subtle as well -- you can get the feeling that she's timid, afraid to intrude upon you. For her you have to be more open, welcoming. Nala is gentle as well... but far less timid. [Her tone seems almost distracted for a moment.] Her presence is a very calm one, and she's far more eager to share than the others are.
