So many scenes are burned permanently into my psyche thanks to seeing this at such a young age. (Seeing a leech for the first time and seeing where it could go and what it could do seriously disturbed me for awhile!)

That's why the film works so well for me. I experienced those mature situations right there with them.

I love this movie so much. Definitely my favorite Stephen King story adaptation. And I miss River Phoenix.
