We'll be at Penguicon as well! We'll have to come see you!

Funny enough, Midnight Monster Movies is showing a movie at noon Saturday with a lead actor named Mike Mason! Weird.

Don't you know that software upgrades (particularly to "free" software from for-profit companies) are meant to serve their interests, not the users'? As they say, if you can't see where you are paying for the product, it's because you ARE the product.

On the subject of blood sugar, have you looked into Soylent. It's cheap (~$3/meal), filling, low glycemic index and entirely inoffensive as a food experience. I have been using it as a weekday breakfast and occasional lunch for several weeks now, and I actually feel better than I did when I was eating "real" food for breakfast - mostly because it's a better balanced meal than what I usually had for breakfast.
I am actually a bit of a foodie and my wife is a gourmet cook, so I'm not advocating it as a total food replacement (although that's what it is designed for). But as a replacement for rushed/unhealthy/unbalanced/fast-food meals, it's fantastic.

By coincidence, a friend of mine who goes by "Penguin" was just musing about getting out of town and taking a vacation. Alas, she's in Oregon - a bit too far away from Penguicon.

Have fun, and congrats on your sugar!

Filmwise, I'm MUCH more hyped about the Ian McKellen Mr. Holmes than I am about AoU or JarJar Abrams' Star Wars film.
