IT IS... ALIVE

Sorry I haven't updated here for, jeez, almost two weeks. I'm fine, just spending most of my social time on Facebook. I'll post more often here, I promise.

Meantime, how is everybody? Get through the storms yesterday okay? Everything on track for a decent Thanksgiving?

Which facebook page? I see two listed there but neither seem to have anything going on.

This one: https://www.facebook.com/filkertom . I also have to start seriously using the musician page, https://www.facebook.com/tomsmithonline . Those are the only two I've set up -- what else are you seeing?

The latest entry I see on tomsmithonline is from March 27 where you shared a link. But I'm not a FB member so what I can see is limited.

Doing good. Looking forward to the Doctor Who 50th this weekend. Did you see the mini episode online?

Busy at work. Survived the storm with only a few brownouts last night.

Yeah, I had a couple of light flickers, but it mostly seemed to miss us.

And the last of the storm-disabled traffic lights was working again this afternoon, and the last two of my coworkers without power should be back up soon (one tonight, one by Friday).

Blissfully ignorant of the storms since they were somewhere else.

Had a recital this past Sunday as part of the bass lessons I'm taking. I used Vixy and Tony's cover of "Rich Fantasy Lives" because I really wanted to get that song out to an audience that might not have heard it yet. =)

Gearing up for BoardGameGeekCon this week - yaaaaay!

My neighborhood lost power last night, but it's back on now. The refrigerator/freezer stayed cold enough that I don't have to throw away any food, hurrah!

I'm surprised that there are no fallen branches along my street. Maybe the derecho that blew through here a few years ago took out anything that could be blown down.

Oh, I've never had to toss food because of a power outage. Nope nope nope. Actually, I have to seriously defrost my "new" fridge, as it's not a frost-free model, and it stays INTENSELY cold. I've got three inches of glacier at the top right now.

I have an irrational dislike of defrosting freezers. 95% of the work is basically waiting for the ice to melt, but it seems like So.Much.Work.

My parents have an upright freezer that I wish they'd defrost. Myself, I have a chest freezer in the garage that's been unused so long I have to wonder if it's still working.
