Yesterday was the longest single driving day of my life. Seventeen hours in the car, starting at 7:00 a.m. Central and going until midnight. But at the end of the road was FenConA bunch of friends were there -- Tim, Russ, Tim, Rhonda -- along with some other nice folks, who whisked me and my stuff up to my room. And I already saw Heather Dale and ( Read more... )

Well for me I might be running a new Pathfinder game tomorrow night. Definitely playing a new 3rd edition Shadowrun game tonight with my Friday night group with a bunch of new home rules a friend came up with. Most of which are pretty cool, even if I don't hyper minmax things like others in my group lol.

Other things? Well....heck I told you why not say it here too. I lost a lot of weight over the past three months and I'm down to 247lbs from 275 :D so I'm really happy about that.

Retired my old duster, which I've had in excess of 12+ years, and now wearing my 10th Doctor coat. :) Lots of good things happening lately. A couple sad things but I'm doing great today. :)

Thanks for the friendship man. It's helped more than I can say.

How is 3ed Shadowrun different from others? I was in a SR campaign for a while until we got tricked into nearly committing a terrorist act and our team pretty much abandoned each other when it went south. (Player styles were too different for us to stay together. (I liked playing a good person and another player didn't.)

I haven't really played any other edition of Shadowrun enough, if at all, to tell you the difference. Sorry. Our group uses the point buy system from the Revised Shadowrun Companion for character building so you can get some interesting builds, especially with Paul's additions to the system. (of course it makes it difficult when two of the players minmax and try to get as many contacts, advantages or perks (something Paul introduced) as possible to make their character's broken ( ... )

Now that you've talked about it, I think maybe the campaign was 3rd edition. I remember digging around for my 2ed books because there were conversion rules and the two editions were similar.

I'm going to wait until I joined a campaign before I get any more RPG books. I'm in Chicago's western burbs, Michigan is a bit too far to travel for a game.

It's not *that* long a drive. You barely covered half the diameter of the moon! Well, I guess you'll cover the other half on the way home. Make sure to stop by at the Tycho Magnetic Anomaly!

I know Tom has SHI as he goes Dallas to San Diego, but does anyone know if he's OK?

(A friend of mine passed last week so I'd like to check up.)
