Tell Woody Harrelson To Start Buying Twinkies NOW

Hostess Brands is going out of business.

Utterly stupid. The company would literally rather kill itself off than give their workers a break. They wanted "major wage and benefit concessions". Don't they always?

What's your favorite Hostess brand? Mine's the Snowball. Fortunately, I only have 'em a couple of times a year.

Had snowballs just last week. Twinkies are good too.

Twinkies are the best, and I have fond memories of the Cupcakes. But my roomie is a celiac, so those treats have been no-go for years...except recently we found a GF bakery that does awesome Twinkie versions and she's working on making her own Twinkie recipe. So we're set.

But yeah. FUBAR situation as usual.

UPDATE: Went to the local convenience store on break. The Hostess section looked like a bomb went off. Got caught up in the panic and bought the very last two-pack Twinkie. Shaddup. :-)

I don't think I've had hostess anything for a decade, and I didn't eat them growing up either, but I appreciate that it's the end of an era.

So the megaconglemerate that owns Hostess will now make nothing every year instead of less. Smart...

And important note: Hostess and many of the bakeries are in Texas, a non-union state. We would rather cut our hands off than go on a strike, which should point out exactly how bad things are in those Hostess factories for a bunch of Texans to go out on strike.

Yeah I guess I don't know why the assumption is no more Twinkies, ever. I would think if they go out of business completely the money-grubbing powers that be will say, "Gosh no use for this now" and sell the recipe and/or name to another company.
