Always up for any excuse for a party (especially one they'd been invited to), the twins had been on their best behavior throughout the bonding ceremony. Fred even refrained from whistling as Remus and Snape made their way down the center aisle together.

The ceremony was beautiful. Abby and Henri were both weepy next to George, by the time the two men started exchanging vows. Even Xifeng, who'd come as George's date teared up a bit, George noticed.

The twins, their dates, as well as Henri and Abby dutifully took their place in the receiving line. Out of respect for Remus, more than anything else, they'd left all their pranks at home... Well... Most of them. They always had something up their sleeves.

But this was no time for pranks! (As much as getting Snape's goat was fun, under normal circumstances) Remus was marr... err... bonded! That definately required congratulations (or condolences, in Fred's case ( ... )

Ron held onto Lavender's hand as they stood in line, waiting to congradulate Remus and Severus. He had offered her his handkerchief, that he had stuck in his pocket, to dab at her eyes earlier and he watched her use it to blot the tears on her face. His navy suit was very dashing, and he felt he did Lavender justice. She look amazing ( ... )

The ceremony had been perfectly romantic. Lavender had originally thought it would be odd to see two of her former professors together as a couple. She had never predicted their relationship. But somehow they were so right for each other that Lavender really couldn't see them any other way. The tears had started rather quickly during the ceremony but it had been an emotional event ( ... )

Dinner, 6:30pm m4moony April 6 2008, 00:06:02 UTC
The main table for the Bonded pair, their attendants, family, and guests stood at the end of the room across from where Remus and Severus stood to greet their guests. The staff arranged it thus so the assembled guests could welcome the newly Bonded pair with applause as they made their way to the dinner. A guesture that guaranteed the pleased embarrassment of the two men, but which was a thoughtful touch all the same ( ... )

Ron had found a nice place to sit that was off to the side, with a nice view of the cake. He pulled out a chair for Lavender, and waited for her to sit down when he pushed it in carefully.

He took his seat, and was chipper, looking at the menu and then up at her. He didn't know much about her, besides her affection for chocolate and wine. He wondered about her as he noticed her reading the menu carefully, wrinkling her nose in the cutest way as she read something that obviously disagreed with her. He barely noted what was offered; he didn't want to miss a moment of her facial expressions. He smiled, and held back the large grin that wanted to spread across his face.

"I think I will have some wine to drink. Does that sound nice to you, Lavender? Or would you like something more like a cocktail from the bar?"

Lavender perused the menu, which seemed to have a lot of meat items. She wasn't particularly hungry for protein, though. A salad sounded more appetizing. Of course, she also wanted to save room for the cake...

Her thoughts were interrupted by Ron's offer of getting her a drink. "Oh, wine is fine," Lavender answered. "What are you going to order? Would you want to share something with me? I'm not really hungry." She smiled shyly at Ron, hoping he would agree with her. She felt a little strange, asking to share something with Ron. They weren't a couple, but it was such a couple thing to do, sharing a meal.

Ron shrugged and nodded in agreement, "I'll share something with you, if you like. Look, I am always up for a meal. I was going to get the steak. Do you want to pick something lighter, and we could share both? Do you eat meat?"

Ron shook his head at himself, "It kills me how little I know about you. All I do know is that you are not into cooking. What kinds of things do you like to eat?"

He saw a waiter, and ordered them some house wine, white to be safe. He turned back to her, smiling and said, "I'm curious. I have been learning to cook. Maybe I could cook you something sometime?"

Dancing, 7:30pm m4moony April 6 2008, 00:06:26 UTC
At the other side of the room, the space had been left clear for dancing. After the meal was over, a small pub band with fiddle, harp, guitar, and drum set up in one corner of that area, leaving plenty of space available for guests to make good use of the polished wood dancing floor. Their repetoire would include some of the more traditional waltzes and reels, as well as some of the more modern, rock influenced tunes.

There had been a moment where he was actually in danger of over-eating. He'd been so nervous the last few days that his appetite had been off. When the food was set before him, he felt absolutely ravenous.

But there had been too much downright jovial conversation and too much smiling until his cheeks actually physically ached from the unaccustomed exercise, and in the end he hadn't eaten himself ill.

Though the cake had made it a near thing.

The point was, he had finally stopped being anxious, nervous, apprehensive or any of the other plethora of unpleasant emotions that had somehow seasoned the Bonding anticipation into something forever memorable - though more pleasantly so now that it was over. He was Bonded to Remus and this entire reception was for them, to celebrate that fact ( ... )

Remus, on the other hand, despite being aided by lycanthropic metabolism and an appetite to rival a teenaged male's in the middle of the worst growth spurt, had hardly touched his food, so busy had he been in alternating between carrying on several conversations with the friends seated around them and simply watching Severus in silent adoration. He'd never seen his mate so vibrantly happy and he found himself entranced by the sight.

When Severus rose from his seat and offered Remus his hand, there could be no room for embarrassment or nervousness. How could there be when he was finally going to get something he'd wished for at every social function they'd been forced to endure over the last year -- dance with Severus Snape-Lupin. That the requet following was phrased as a demand only made Remus' smile broaden. Everything about Severus made Remus smile today.

"Well, if I get to lead," he teased gently, taking Severus' hand in his and rising to join him. "I suppose I can be coerced into dancing with you, Mr. Snape-Lupin ( ... )

Severus actually laughed out loud as he was pulled into Remus' embrace. He loved the quiet strength of his husband's movements. The curse which controlled or at least coloured every aspect of Remus' life - of their life, now - had given him preternatural strength even when the moon was at its lowest.

Severus, never formed for physical combat at the height of his youth, could not but find that raw power enticing.

Accustomed to leading, he was surprised how easily he slipped into the submissive role here. Not merely easily, but proudly gave control of his movements into his lover's graceful steps ( ... )
