The ceremony was beautiful. Abby and Henri were both weepy next to George, by the time the two men started exchanging vows. Even Xifeng, who'd come as George's date teared up a bit, George noticed.
The twins, their dates, as well as Henri and Abby dutifully took their place in the receiving line. Out of respect for Remus, more than anything else, they'd left all their pranks at home... Well... Most of them. They always had something up their sleeves.
But this was no time for pranks! (As much as getting Snape's goat was fun, under normal circumstances) Remus was marr... err... bonded! That definately required congratulations (or condolences, in Fred's case ( ... )

He took his seat, and was chipper, looking at the menu and then up at her. He didn't know much about her, besides her affection for chocolate and wine. He wondered about her as he noticed her reading the menu carefully, wrinkling her nose in the cutest way as she read something that obviously disagreed with her. He barely noted what was offered; he didn't want to miss a moment of her facial expressions. He smiled, and held back the large grin that wanted to spread across his face.
"I think I will have some wine to drink. Does that sound nice to you, Lavender? Or would you like something more like a cocktail from the bar?"

Her thoughts were interrupted by Ron's offer of getting her a drink. "Oh, wine is fine," Lavender answered. "What are you going to order? Would you want to share something with me? I'm not really hungry." She smiled shyly at Ron, hoping he would agree with her. She felt a little strange, asking to share something with Ron. They weren't a couple, but it was such a couple thing to do, sharing a meal.

Ron shook his head at himself, "It kills me how little I know about you. All I do know is that you are not into cooking. What kinds of things do you like to eat?"
He saw a waiter, and ordered them some house wine, white to be safe. He turned back to her, smiling and said, "I'm curious. I have been learning to cook. Maybe I could cook you something sometime?"

But there had been too much downright jovial conversation and too much smiling until his cheeks actually physically ached from the unaccustomed exercise, and in the end he hadn't eaten himself ill.
Though the cake had made it a near thing.
The point was, he had finally stopped being anxious, nervous, apprehensive or any of the other plethora of unpleasant emotions that had somehow seasoned the Bonding anticipation into something forever memorable - though more pleasantly so now that it was over. He was Bonded to Remus and this entire reception was for them, to celebrate that fact ( ... )

When Severus rose from his seat and offered Remus his hand, there could be no room for embarrassment or nervousness. How could there be when he was finally going to get something he'd wished for at every social function they'd been forced to endure over the last year -- dance with Severus Snape-Lupin. That the requet following was phrased as a demand only made Remus' smile broaden. Everything about Severus made Remus smile today.
"Well, if I get to lead," he teased gently, taking Severus' hand in his and rising to join him. "I suppose I can be coerced into dancing with you, Mr. Snape-Lupin ( ... )

Severus, never formed for physical combat at the height of his youth, could not but find that raw power enticing.
Accustomed to leading, he was surprised how easily he slipped into the submissive role here. Not merely easily, but proudly gave control of his movements into his lover's graceful steps ( ... )
