Percy, too, was still reeling a bit from Charlie's announcement. Of course he knew Katie fairly well; she'd only been a few years behind him in the House when he'd been prefect. But it had come as quite a shock to hear that she and Charlie had married! He wasn't hurt by it - it wasn't in his nature - but he was astonished by their rashness. And, though he would never use this term to the newlyweds themselves, somewhat disgusted. How irresponsible. How thoughtless, immature and disrespectful. Charlie at least ought to know that Mum would be hurt and angry. And anyway he scarcely knew Katie, he had admitted himself that they'd only just met. So what could they have been thinking ( ... )

When she noticed Percy had arrived, Molly offered him a smile of her own, drying her hands on one of the towels provided before laying it neatly in her work area.

"Afternoon, Percy." She replied, moving to give him a hug. Though she was seeing less and less of her children in general, it seemed like she saw even less of Percy, but she couldn't blame him for the pride he took in his work, even if she thought he would be better off taking it easy now and then.

"No, there's nothing I need help with. I was just finishing up. Did you have a preference on where to go?"

From his mother, he would have been surprised not to receive a hug, and he returned the gesture willingly. She was possibly the only living soul with whom he might have actually initiated a hug, although she never made it necessary.

"Not at all," he replied. "I've chosen the place the last time or two we've eaten together. You decide this time. Anywhere you like."

Molly thought for a moment after Percy told her that he didn't mind if she picked where they had lunch, and the first place that popped into her mind was the deli she had taken to patronizing on her lunch breaks.

"Well, there's the deli that I'm fond of or there's a few other restaurants in this area. What do you think?"
