Owl Post to: Stella Sinistra
Date: Tuesday, August 14
Time: Evening
Stella was sitting at her desk, working on some changes in the lesson plans for her N.E.W.T. level classes when she heard a tapping sound. She was somewhat surprised to see her parents' owl, Aglaia, rapping on the window with her beak. Her parents didn't write too often- though her father was semi-retired, they both still worked quite a bit. Occassionally she would get a note inviting her over to tea, or asking her to stay for a few days, but her parents were well aware that Stella's schedule was busy, too. Stella untied the roll of parchment- a newspaper clipping slipped out, but she let it fall on the bookshelf below her window, reading the letter first.
Stella-
We are sure that you have probably seen this, and can understand why your father and I are worried about you. Of course, that Skeeter woman always stretches things, but really, dear, you should really be a bit more careful about who you are seen with, and where- I am sure your friends are lovely, but I also know that not everyone thinks so.
Also, is there someone we should be meeting? It certainly sounds like this Caleb Moore has become a fairly close friend of yours.
Much love,
Mum & Dad
Stella studied at the parchment for a minute, confused. She finally looked at the
newspaper clipping, scanning through it quickly until she found her name. Somehow, she found herself on the sofa, eyes wide and staring at the piece of newspaper in her hand.
Oh, Merlin, she thought, knowing what she needed to do, and dreading every second of it. Summoning a piece of parchment and a quill, Stella shakily wrote a note to Caleb.
Caleb-
My mum and dad just sent me this. And they want to meet you-
Do you want me to come over?
Love,
Stella
She rolled up the newspaper clipping with the parchment, called her owl Cassie over, and quickly sent her off to Caleb's.
