Charlotte looked up when she heard the bells on the door chime and the patter of little shoes. Pushing her long blonde hair out of her eyes, she moved towards the sound and nearly ran right into Wini Wood. She remembered the little girl from a trip with Parvati, something about a unicorn book.

She offered the girl a small smile, "Bonjour, Mademoiselle Wini." she said, quietly, not wanting to startle the child, "'ave you come to find anozer book to enjoy?" she asked.

It was true that children were not her favorite clients, but Wini had seemed to enjoy and appreciate the book she had gotten last time she had been there. Most of the time, the children just ran around while the parents got their things and got their grubby little hands on everything. She liked children that appreciated books and didn't tear them up or ruin them, at least not when they were in her store. Outside her store, she understood that things happened.

"Do you remember w'ere ze children's books are or would you like me to show you?"

Wini stopped, hands at her side and looking up at Charlotte with a frightened expression. She walked backwards, almost tripping over her little feet until she backed right on top of Oliver's shoes.

"Hey Wini," said Oliver, reaching down to put his hands on her shoulders. "It's alright." He couldn't remember Charlotte's name, though he had seen her before. "She's just trying to help us." Wini still gave a little whine and reached up to take her father's hand.

"Ah, we'd love it if you showed us the children's books," said Oliver. "I haven't ever been here, so..."

She blinked as the child shied away from her. She hadn't sounded mean had she? She gave her father one of those, maybe I'm not a children person smiles and nodded, moving to take the two towards the small, but serviceable children's section. This was an academic bookstore. There was a reason that the children's section was small. "If you are looking for somet'ing zat I do not 'ave, I would be 'appy to try to order it for you." she offered before she moved to let them look for a little bit.

She had thought she had made a good impression with Wini the last time she had been there, but she guessed the toddler didn't remember her. She moved to shelve the books she had been working on, keeping in sight in case they decided that they needed something. She had a few children's books of fairy tales and unicorns, a goodly selection on dragons, since they were very prominant in French folklore, a few muggle children's books too.

Oliver chuckled as Wini held his hand, giving her a pat on the back to go forward. "Go ahead, Wini," he said. "She's a nice lady." Wini whined and muttered, "No," letting go of her Dad's hand.

"I.. ah," said Oliver, itching his ear. "I think you just scared her, almost running over her. And... well, she's been a bit grumpy lately. Sorry. Actually, do you have any books about raising toddlers? I, ah, think I might be able to use one."

Wini toddled over to the books. This she remembered. She started pulling them off the shelves one by one, taking a look at them before dropping them on the floor. Thankfully she was so short that they didn't need to go very far.
