It couldn't be classified as a good morning. It had been a while since Harry had one of those, but it was an improvement. His journal conversation with Hermione the night before had lifted some of the weight on his shoulders, heart, mind - all of the above off of him. It was still there, but there was someone who knew. She might not understand any better than he did, but she knew. And that was something.

So, with a bit of a lighter step, Harry crawled out of bed that morning and seriously considered his options. He should clean up the rubble that was the former Quidditch Pitch. It wasn't fair to Ron or Hermione to leave it there like a standing scrap heap simply because he wanted a reminder of what he'd done when he let anger and hate take over. It wasn't as if the memory was going to stop rattling around in his head any time soon. Visions of the word, 'Ferret', going up in flames and the wince of guilt and hurt that went with it. The image of wood splintering and cracking, falling to ruin almost at just a thought from Harry's fury flooded mind. Waking up sore and bloody in the middle of a destruction he'd created and was solely responsible for. He could still feel the ache in his left arm, though by all intensive purposes it was completely healed. No, those things weren't going away any time soon, which meant the pile of rubble could.

With that settled, Harry headed down to the kitchen for breakfast determined to start on his project right afterward. There wasn't a spring in his step or a whistle escaping lips in a careless tune, but he had a purpose and that lifted his spirits somewhat. It was small and the task itself should only take the better part of one day, but it was more than he'd had lately and that was something too.

Harry crossed the threshold from the hall into the large kitchen, the smell of coffee brewing hitting him well before he reached the room. Either Dobby had heard him stirring and started a pot or someone else was up.
