Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

Yeah, well, Helen Keller was blind and deaf, and I believe she had a companion accompanying her just about everywhere.

There's a big difference between throwing one's fate to the wind and facing danger well-prepared. Take skydivers, for example. Yes, they jump out of perfectly good airplanes tens of thousands of feet above the ground, but they do so wearing equipment they've meticulously maintained, checked and have been trained on, and they have well-practiced emergency procedures. On the other hand, we see people driving down the street eating a burger, talking on their cell phones and fiddling with their radios, oblivious to the danger they're exposing themselves and others to. It's always the danger you turn a blind eye to that gets you.

Recognizing and being sufficiently prepared to deal with the dangers we face make the difference between success and failure. Timing is everything, and always plan twice, so if your initial plan fails, you have a back-up.

Got a fav t-shirt? Post it! connorwilde March 27 2007, 06:01:43 UTC
Word!

Sounds like we both have mystery men... I was admiring my t-shirt collection today and I thought of you when folding "good times" and unpacking a total of 5 boxes into our new condo at Moana Pacific ...pix to come? How the hell are you, anyway? I seriously miss you and think of you often.

Got a fav t-shirt? Post it! Show me.

By the way, Lowes makes sure their well-trained staff guarantees your safe return. Wal*Mart, however, doesn't give two hoots but I've been there twice in a period of 24 hours.

Hey Brit,

Been a while, think about you frequently for a bunch o reasons, and hope you are doing well in ATL. Big change. Yeesh.

Hey, by the way, I think you're fucking great. I miss even infrequent sushi and your incessant telephone banter. Just thought you should know. Probably already did.

Enough of all that emo shit.

Talk later. Drop me an email sometime, let me know the news that's not fit to print. I also got a box here for ya, next time you're headed to a Renaissance Fair.
