I posted the other day about re-reading Dworkin, and I was just thinking that I want to say more about that. As that post mentions, what I chose to re-read was a few snippets available online from Intercourse. (Yes, I realize that re-reading excerpts is not the same as re-reading the book itself. Why can't we put the blame on the system, not the people who happen to have orgasms doing the things the system says are cool?

People are easier targets to hit, and require less work.

(Pardon, I'm having a bad day.)

I haven't really read Dworkin, and once she started saying shit like "Susie Bright should be assassinated.", I just wrote her off as a whacko minion, who was probably under the control of MacKinnon.

nod to the her not talking about you, or me for that matter thing (I do not orgasm from clitoral stimulation...imagine that) yet I still find her statements troubling and offensive.

Women who enjoy being penetrated in sex are not broken, thanks very much. Sometimes, well gee, it feels good.

And as a gal who has railed a dude up the ass with a strap on, yeah, you know, that feels good too.

I have no use for these theories, in fact -ala that one entry- I find them poisonous!

My first thought is "since when is being penetrated the cardinal opposite of freedom?".

Whut???

Being filled feels good, so does being inside someone else. Pleasure and freedom can comflict, but they don't have to. Unless she's talking about compulsory scripts.

:P
