Maybe RTD is being a horrible tease and the bit being filmed for 2005 is NOT Rose's only scene.
Maybe he had them film the Rose/TenII stuff inside, thus no one sees it and everyone freaks out over the outside bit.

Yeah, that just seems too weird. He's a pretty recognizable chap, no? I mean, yeah he looks much different now than he did then, but even still...

Maybe he's skulking in the shadows or something when he runs into Rose in 2005.

Yeah, stalker!Doctor. zomg, what if he looks at her from afar and tells her he loves her and she doesn't get to hear it or know anything about it and then he dies! *wails*

I will maintain my faith in Rusty's ability to write awesome Doctor/Rose - I bet it's something we're just not thinking of :D

Presumably if it's so important to go back and see Rose it's something to do with Bad Wolf? Or maybe it isn't back in time at all. Maybe there's yet another alt!verse! OR now I'm having Mastery thoughts about The Year That Never Was. What if he has to go back and stop himself from ever meeting Rose?! Noooooooo!

HEY! No erasing all of new Who!! It all flows from meeting Rose at the beginning. Without that, the rest doesn't even exist. I'll be BEYOND annoyed if RTD negates his whole four seasons! *see icon for how I would feel*

Hmmmm, from the way I understand the time travel in Who, at the point that they were traveling together she hadn't yet met his future self in her past. The past isn't fixed and no present is any more special than any other. (Does that make sense?) Which means that if they have any significant interaction, season two at least would be different than it was. *ow, my head hurts now* Not that the writers can't get around that if they choose, of course.

My personal theory from the little bit we know about the shooting is that something is happening to the Doctor and I have to wonder if he wasn't planning on going back to see Rose, but landed the TARDIS to get away from whatever it was, is hurt/injured and seeing Rose is a surprise (since he apparently asks what year this is).

We don't know the rest since the folks who saw it are keeping mum at the request of the production folks (the request apparently delivered by Billie and David, who then did autographs and photos) but I wonder if seeing her gives him the strength to do what he needs to do -- "I believe in her."

Argh! We're going to have to wait until January to find out!
