Also, I loved all the details of the story I'd forgotten.

Like, Tezuka and Fuji's conversation before the match.
With Fuji being like: "I WANT REVENGE FOR MY BROTHER! Let me play Jirou."
And Tezuka replying, "You're obsessed with your brother."
And Fuji's, "What's your point?"

And Inui persuading Kaidoh to play doubles with him:

Inui: I like doubles. I played doubles until my best friend and doubles partner moved without telling me to a rival school and left me heart broken.
Kaidoh: NO! I AM A SINGLES PLAYER!
Inui: The doubles court is wider. You'd get your snake in. With me.
Kaidoh: .....

(OK, maybe mild paraphrasing, but that's totally how it went down.)

Sounds like fun! I can't believe they are still making these after all this time. Good for them and for the fans that it's still working well. :-)

Definitely working well. It's a battle to get tickets for the shows.

I also like that they aren't just rehashing the same thing from last season but instead do put in the effort to give each show new songs and are always trying to improve upon it. Not that all the new songs are hits with me. But I still appreciate that they try.
