I have a question for you all out there:

1. When it came time to quit work, because it was to taxing on your body, who made the decision?
You or your doctor.

I did, and my doctor backed me up. I couldn't get out of bed most days. Work just wasn't happening. So, I was fired for excessive absences.

I was working from home but they "declined to renew" my contract because I wasn't working fast enough anymore. Sitting up all day waiting for someone to ask for me to do work was causing so much pain that I was out the rest of the time... oh wait, I was out part of the time that I was 'working' as well and heaven forefend when we went into crunch and I had to work more than 40 hours a week!! It broke my heart having to stop working but it was the best thing that ever happened health-wise and like so many others here my pcp said she thought I'd have to stop soon anyway. ::sigh:: I keep hoping that I'll be able to get 'better' enough to work again but the look my pcp keeps giving me makes me think that the odds aren't good. meh.

Me. Things tend to happen pretty suddenly for me. One day I could work - the next day I couldn't. There were a few days of attempting and having to leave, and then I tried to continue the easier of my jobs but couldn't even handle that.

It was the easiest, best job I could ever have (I taught a kid 1-1 in a library for only 2 hrs a day 3 days a week. So when I couldn't do that, I knew I couldn't do anything. My friends have asked me for casual help on things, and my brain is usually too fried.
