ugh, i sympathize. i have terrible dreams when my pain levels are higher than usual. the best cure i've found is to try and get my pain under control. that sometimes includes getting more comfortable at night with a different position or pillow or temperature control.
Thanks for your advice. I'm fortunate that I don't have pain every day and it seems more that my pain levels increase after a particularly bad night than the opposite where I have a worse night when I'm in pain. I am truly baffled.
My pain specialist had me start taking L-Tryptophan when other medications and supplements weren't enough. I take it as part of a 5-HTP supplement. He also started me on Amrix, which is extended-release Flexeril, last Friday as another way to further regulate my sleep.
I also started taking L-Tryptophan (I buy a supplement from Swanson Vitamins called TryptoPure). It's made my dreams much more pleasant and helps me sleep through the night.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. That definitely sounds terrifying.
I know it's not that my pain is interrupting my sleep because luckily my pain levels are relatively low on a day to day basis. And I definitely know stress is part of the problem but nothing I do seems to relieve it. After 8+ years of therapy I'm pretty practiced in dealing with my emotions and reducing stress. It just doesn't add up.
Lately I've been getting 9-10 hours of sleep in a row plus 1-2 hour nap during the day. I rarely wake up completely, but I often become awake enough to be aware of changing positions. I'm definitely looking into remedies and will let you know if I find anything. Good luck with your sleep!

I have been trying to build a bedtime routine but nothing about my state pre-sleep seems to have any effect on the peacefulness of my sleep.
Thanks for your advice about Melatonin and Sedalin. I will definitely look into it.
