Could you shop for hours before you were sick?

I remember I could. There was a mall I used to go to, several towns away, it had three floors and each floor was pretty damn long too. To go through everything there it could take an entire day. My feet and legs might have been a tad tender the next day but now I cannot fathom going to that mall again...the drive alone is too long...and three ( Read more... )

thanks for posting this i too was what they caled a "professional shopper"
orat least window and comparioson shoper, then one day i shooped till i dro
dropped and did not get up till having to go to work monday night

funny thing is i never accomplished buying things i just would love walking being out with people looking trying on

trick is to keep doing it scaled down just ya know dont avoid that activit dont let long periods go before you go out again just do what you canand have fun

yeah i think they need to take either the syndrome out or fatugue cause theres so many wate basket syndromes which could be pyhschological and fatigue does not begin to explin cfs i mean you would excpect to be fatuged after shopping all day but noy run over by a train ... gld you at least got shelving up peace tiea

I used to be able to shop for hours, but now Fibro has crippled me energy wise and financially.

Yeah, I hear you on the financial stuff. It's not fair that being sick should make people poor...it's not like we asked for this.

I suspect I have both CFS and fibro, as I was originally diagnosed with CFS in '98, and cardio exercise wipes me out.

I was first diagnosed with CFS in 2002, at the time the only pain I had was bad headaches and TMJ, then in 2004 I started to develop widespread pain and it seems like it keeps getting worse as time goes on. Exercise wipes me out too.

That's a really cute kitten picture!

Yep, me too. My daughters and I used to love to go to the mall and shop or just window shop for hours it was our little pick me up. I went grocery shopping on Saturday and still recouping even today. I can't do mor than an hour without a couple days down after. I really miss it too. Plus the cane slows me down a lot now. But can't afford to go anyway. A lot of things tire me out anymore. Grocery shopping is one of the worst these days. Sympathize and hugs.

Oh yes. I don't know what amazes me more at this point, how long I was able to shop before, or how quickly my feet start screaming in agony now.
