I get massages regularly and they help me immensely. But this summer I had to get a massage from someone that I don't know and my flare up was huge. It took me 3 days to be able to get out of bed.
I've returned to my regular therapist and I am so grateful I can't tell you.

I hope you find someone who can work with your body and find what works for you.

An important thing to remember about massage therapy is that you must drink lots of water after a session. You need to flush those toxins out of your body.

I have read that deep tissue massage is not good and I have read that it is good. The massage therapist I am looking at told me that she would not do deep tissue massage but instead focus on general relaxation.

you need to ask if they have had any expereance with people with fibro first. I only benift from very deep muscle work, so I have to be very selective about who I let touch me, if I get someone who has no clue, I get hurt.
