post massage injury?

Jan 26, 2006 22:52

I had my first "professional" massage last Sunday, (I posted about it earlier this week), and had a horrific flare that did not want to go away, which started Monday. I was in excrutiating pain, and was totally exhausted all day Tuesday. Well, finally I started getting back to "normal", and the pain subsidded to the usual, except for the bottom of my left leg, from the knee down, on the outside. It is still throbbing, burning, and nothing I do is helping. I've tried a heating pad, which usually works well for my "regular" leg pains, as well as the pain meds, but this feels like something new. It's not an ache as much as a constant stabbing pain. I know it didn't help that I had to drive the car, (a stick shift), instead of my Rendevous today, but I had no choice if I wanted to get to work; I've missed so much lately I feel I have to try as hard as I can to get there.

Anyway, could I possibly have gotten an injury from the massage? I'm scheduled for another one this Sunday, and my doc has OK'd it, but she said if I have another flare after that to stop getting them.

Advice?

Thanks,

Stormy
