The Home of Alexander Hartdegen, London - 1899 - Then Beyond

Mar 16, 2008 18:38

Alexander Hartdegen minded his own business these days. He'd lost contact with most of his friends during the frenzied years while he built his time machine. Making contact again was too hard for most, so he kept to himself and tinkered. Everything paled in comparison to his magnum opus, the pinnacle of his work as a scientist, but it kept him busy ( Read more... )

The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, London, 1899 fh_fillers March 16 2008, 08:47:08 UTC
It was only a small building, but the watchmakers guild was still in its infancy. Like so many buildings in London, it stood atop a network of caves, that stretched deep down into the very foundations of London itself ( ... )

Jeff was here.

Jeff still had a faucet and three quarters of a cigar.

He would still have these over a hundred years later.

Oddly enough, the only thing that went through his mind as he went into stasis, and for the forseeable future afterwards, was the word 'soup'.

Not even Jeff knew why.

Getting to Italy, with a train ticket in his pocket and a few possessions to sell, had been the easiest part ( ... )

It had taken her just over seven months to get to the stasis place thanks to her ridiculously bad grasp of earth geography. Go to London, wasn't very useful when you barely knew that London existed.

When she did make it though, Ino could speak French and Italian fairly fluently (don't ask her how she'd wound up in Italy while trying to get to London--she still didn't know how it had happened exactly). Ino still had Deadpool-san's knives though, and the coat she'd stolen back in Paris. And a good bit of stolen money.

Shush.

Mel took a somewhat different route than the others. She figured that if she was going to be in 1923 she might as well enjoy the ride and explore what the year had to offer.

So it was three months after finding out about the stasis thing that Mel finally showed up at the guild.

Along with a pack filled with stolen mementos of her time in 1923.

There had been a brief (way too brief, in certain people's opinions) stop in Monte Carlo, but Robin had begged, borrowed, stolen and flashed numerous people to ensure that she and Barney got to the thingie as quickly as they could.

Someone missed things like electricity. And you know, stuff.

It hadn't taken Savannah long to get to London when she received the message that the people in Fandom had figured out how to get them home. After all, she and Wyatt had stuck together during the last nine months -- nine months too long to be away from everyone they loved, thank you very much.

Savannah showed up dressed in the black dress and veil she had been wearing when she got the messages in Cairo -- with shawls placed in strategic places because even after nine months she was still not comfortable with the sheerness of the material. She also had a small satchel with things she had "acquired" in Egypt during their stay.

Thank gods, there was finally an end in sight to this whole mess.

As soon as John and Sam got the message telling them to go to London, they dropped everything they were doing and began gathering the money for tickets to take a boat overseas. For the Winchesters, that meant hustling and stealing every penny they could from the fine citizens of New York City. Sam made sure he said goodbye to Lana before they left, and used what was left of the money he'd taken to buy a few small souvenirs before they headed off to London, and home.

Lana arrived hurriedly at the correct address after a great deal of soul searching. God, she hoped she wasn't too late!

Richie had had a really shitty time in the past. After the fire, he'd spent a lot of time freaking out and getting some fun new memories.

A really long nap sounded like a great idea. He had some random objects from the time, and might have put some money into a longterm savings account. What? He deserved some compensation for all this. It could pay for his therapy.

It had taken Andros nearly a year to make his way from Chicago to where he would end up in stasis. By this time he had somehow collected a few odds and ends from his journey even though he still wasn't sure why he had decided to keep hold of them.

Xander had only been in Chicago a day when the letter arrived - not even long enough for him to hunt up two stamps to mail the messages he was going to send to Dawn and Isabel. He only stayed long enough after selling his watch and Swiss Army Knife to visit the nearest bakery outlet and pick up a big bag of travel provisions. At two for a nickel, he could afford it, even with his limited amount of funds.

He arrived at the stasis chambers a month later with a cheaper pair of boots, longer hair, three vintage 1933 Twinkies, and one letter, folded and unfolded a gajillion times, dated London 1936.
