As the sun set, yet another mysterious fog crept across the island, limiting visibility for any hunters out in the streets. The air was thick with portent: Something was coming. And yet there was no Tom Welling lurking in the fog, just water vapor. Keep your eyes open.

THAT WAS HER HAIR! THE BITCH JUST YANKED HER HAIR!
Karla had one physical conceit. One. With a shriek of rage, her hand flew up towards Dinah's face. "Why? Did he tire of you already? I guess the old saying 'crazy chicks are best in bed' isn't right after all!"
A regular smack, sure...except her serpent's tooth was out. Couldn't kill her, but it could still hurt like a bitch.

And she grinned at that thought. Because one of the advantages of the shotgun was that it was easy to make special ammo. And a shotgun shell propelling a sharpened chunk of wood... she was hoping that would be stake-ish.

"Stay away from Leto, Karla! You wouldn't last a day in our snake pit. I'd make sure of it!"

'Ow,' she could do. So she did. "Ow," she said, sitting up and rubbing her head.

Also, firing with at least part of her hand broken had been rather unpleasant. "Come on," Triela urged as she tried to get an arm around Karla (the broken one, no sense in tying up her good hand). "Let's go before more show up."
She considered Dinah's threats and sighed. If only they hadn't let her get turned. That kind of spirit was exactly what they needed to survive out here.

"Bitch pulled my hair," she complained to Triela. "You saw her. She did."

Both of them, really.

She staggered a bit--uneven ground, really--and got a good look at Triela's hand. "What happened? You okay? What'd she do?"

Despite the fact that broken bones were really bad news for her. When your bones didn't heal like normal peoples'... well, bad news.
That whole shrugging off thing probably would have been more convincing if she hadn't wince in the middle of waving her hand dismissively.

Which wasn't an argument. Triela needed her hand to work. And that was going to require magical healing.

An admission which said a lot, if one knew what to look for.
