FF.Net and the quality of writing

Every now and then someone makes a remark about how there's nothing but shit at the Pit. Someone always jumps in to defend the site, and one of the usual arguments is that the level of quality is very fandom-specific. Some fandoms have nothing but crap posted at FF.Net, but for some other fandoms the site can be a gold mine.

I'd be interested in knowing about your experiences with different fandoms. Which ones made you run away screaming and which ones surprised you positively?

In my experience, FF.Net is a good place to look for stories about western cartoons and series/books/movies/games that are already so old that they no longer have/never had a strong fan community somewhere else, such as LJ. That often leaves FF.Net as the only place for posting and reading, so you're sure to find something decent in the mix.

One fandom that has surprised me is Kim Possible. I've never had any trouble finding something good to read in this fandom. In fact, there are so many promising stories that I don't have the time to read all of them. It's also very diverse. There are plenty of action/adventure stories, humour, backstory and character development for pretty much everyone who ever showed up in the series. The dominant pairings are Kim/Ron and Kim/Shego, but the fandom loves to try out different things, so you can find at least one story about almost any combination of characters.

It's not a perfect fandom, but my issues with it have nothing to do with the quality of writing, so I won't dwell on them.

Another fandom I greatly enjoy is Zorro. It's a relatively quiet fandom that only gets about zero to three updates/new stories a week, but all of that is usually worth a read. Almost all stories are based on either Disney's Zorro or New World Zorro, but there are occasional fics about some other adaptations as well. I usually prefer fics about Disney's Zorro since they tend to concentrate more on adventure and less on romance than NWZ fics.

But enough about my experiences. What fandoms would you recommend at FF.Net?
