Pre-established non-canon relationships
I write a rarepair in a small fandom. As in, I'm the only writer for this pairing. I've done a couple of oneshots and a WIP about them getting together. It's getting repetitive, and I'd like to try my hand at some established relationship fic. The problem is none of my previous stories really work as prequels, and there's no fanon to fill in the gaps. What's the best way to approach the story so that readers don't get confused and I don't have to write a novel?
