I like to think that Xu can convince Quistis to do almost anything...including getting her into a pink bikini and wrestling around in mud. She's talented like that, you see. Rinoa just thought it would be a lark. As much as I dislike the character, she does seem the type of girl that will try anything at least once.

As for Xu's motives, well, who wouldn't want to see Quistis covered in mud?
