First off, let's give a big round of applause to all the writers of our recently completely Het fic, Restive. *applauds*

The reason behind this post is actually just as the subject line says. We already have our next Het fic ready to begin. Yay! The pairing for our next fic will be Jayne Cobb and Inara Serra. The working title of this fic is ( Read more... )

Just posted chapter 17, and MAN was it hard...I really wanted all of that shuttle scene in there, but I have SO MANY bunnies for the plot...if you are stuck and feel like kicking around a few ideas, I'm totally willing to share:) If not, don't worry, I can save 'em for a little Jaynara of my own!

I've got an idea brewing, but I'm not sure about claiming again so soon. So, between maantre and myself, anybody looking for inspiration can find some. :)

Chapter 18 up. Had an idea, and just went with it. I remembered that in a previous part, Aldridge was going to contact the guild about what happened, and that got me thinking.

(Dangerous past-time [I know!])

So, spent some time pondering the Guild, and now I keep picturing Inara dressed as a Bene Gesserit. :)

Chapter 19 is up...as to where it's going. Well, Inara has to get her chance to kick ass somewhere along the line. And assuming they escape, what's Grace going to do?

Grace's future is certainly a question. Home? Companion? Something else completely?

I can see Inara and Jayne buttin' heads a bit, but Grace is strong enough to nake her choices. With her education, her strength, and the support she'll have, she'll probably have a plethora of choices -- though it would be nice if she can get the chance to learn her own mind first.

And your chapter is awesome!

Okay, some thoughts on Ch. 20 which I just posted.

I want some smut between these two, please! I set up a little alone-time (which of course will probably get interrupted by the bad man), but there's a window here.

Also, Grace/Maddie and her name dilemma, she has to re-claim her sense of self. I could see her going either way for different reasons, so it'll be interesting to see what someone does with that (and someone will have to explain it to Jayne, I almost had Inara do that, but was running out of room).

Chapter 22 is posted. I'm thinking that the two groups (Mal & Jayne's) meet and fight off Sir Aldridge. But he's not killed...after that, I'm not sure.
