Easy. My CPU, the red folder right in front of my file cabinet that has the important documents, and my teddy bear. To me, it's not just stuff. My CPU holds my life, the red folder would be important at that time, and my teddy bear is not replaceable.

Having gone through a good chunk of the process to get a green card with my ex-husband, I can totally understand the Indian guy wanting to go in and get his naturalization papers and such. I can understand why your chemist would want to save his documents... He does realize that having good-quality copies (or even originals, if he doesn't need them on a daily basis) in a safe deposit box will give him a whole buncha peace-of-mind, doesn't he?

I hope so. I also took this as an opportunity to order the fireproof safe that Mike has been talking about but hasn't managed to buy yet.

I have to agree with you. As long as hubby and furkids are safe, anything else can be replaced. I've literally lost everything several times in my life so while I do horrible miss some things that had massive sentimental value, things like clothes, most books, furniture, etc can be replaced.

CPU and external. Artwork and precious books if possible. I'll just have to miss the rest. (I'd grab the bag of stuffed animals on the way out)
