[She turns on the video as she's coming in from spending the better part of the day out and about in the snow.  Hermione brushes the white powder off of her coat because wouldn't you know it, she met a rather large pile of snow on the way home.]

First the leaves and now giant mounds of snow.  Honestly, isn't the weather ever normal around here?  The ( Read more... )

Cheers Hermione. [And there we go, big grin.] Tried it on, still fits.

Private

I know how to bake mince pies and do vegetables and stuff.

[By hand and everything. It'll be a piece of cake; far less in the cottage than there are at the Burrow.]

[[ooc: Lalala, please ignore the upcoming hiatus post~]]

I thought it would. No sense in wasting a perfectly good coat by leaving it in my bag. [Smiling in return.]

Private

Everyone can pitch in if we're having a big holiday dinner.

[She's already assigning tasks to everyone in her mind.]

[ooc: Lalalaaaa~ Can't hiatus when there's ~*mistletoe*~ in the air!]

How much stuff did you still have in there? [They should have emptied it out in the living room, just for a giggle or two.]

Private

Is it just the four of us? Or are we inviting anyone else?

[New dilemma - what does he buy her for Christmas? The panic begins!]

Books, clothes and everything else we didn't leave behind in the tent. I've added to it since I got here. [They still can because right now it's still filled with some of that stuff and what she just got at the stores.]

Private

No idea yet, I was waiting for everyone's opinion.

[Since Harry's been here the longest and possible made some good friends along the way. That is a dilemma - even she's not sure what to get for people.]

Thank you very much, Hermione! [Because it was getting a little cold outside for her just in her dress. It's going to be Kiki's goal to try and find something awesome for Hermione for Christmas.]

Private

I can help with dessert if you like.

I wouldn't want you to get sick. Especially since some of those piles of snow might just be taller than I am. [Hermione might have just been the only one really prepared for the possible snow so she figured the others would need coats as well. And she'd love anything Kiki got for her.]

Private

That would be splendid. We'll need to decorate the cottage for Christmas. Between the two of us I think we could find the perfect tree and get it home.

There is an awful lot of snow outside, yes. [But they'd be perfect for making a snow fort or giant snow man.]

Private

I think we could do that. [She smiles. This'll be her first Christmas away from home, but she's got friends around her so she's not so homesick.]

If there's a lot of snow tomorrow as well then we'll just have to go out and do something with all of it. [If that happens to be playing in it then that's just what they'll have to do.]

Private

On Friday we'll go out together for all the things we'll need to decorate. [Hermione wants to make this a good Christmas.]

We'll be having a Christmas dinner this year so you should invite any other friends you've made.

[Harry opens the door to his bedroom and looks out to see Hermione. He's still surprised by how much the cottage has changed since he and D were living here, but it's really not unwelcome. It just feels more like home.]

Hey Hermione.

[He tucks his own dreamberry back into his pocket.]

[She's emptying her bag full of goodies all over the kitchen table so she can put them away. It's an assortment of food, clothes, books and other supplies. When he comes out Hermione gives him a smile.]

Hey Harry. Did you sleep well?

Yeah, I needed it. You said my jacket was in the closet yeah?

[Most of the food is for cooking with but he might find a few junk food snacks here and there. The clothes are mainly the coats, scarves and mittens she got for Luna and Kiki Books from the library that she's borrowing along with parchment, quills, ink and general toiletries. There's a blue one scarf that she hangs around his neck.]

I figured you did otherwise I would have asked if you wanted to come with me. It is and your scarf wasn't salvageable after last year.

I promise you, this is, by far, one of the most normal things around. You've seen nothing yet.

[Great, just great.]

I've looked into a few of the events that happened in the past, there were a couple that didn't look pleasant. Some of those piles of snow are bigger than I am.

I blame people who decided to shove leaves into huge piles.

There were very few events that were truly pleasant by definition. Most of them involve humiliation and terror.

Nothing we can really do about it now except melt the bigger piles.

I really hope this is going to be a good Christmas and not filled with terror. [Like last years.]

There was plenty of it in England. Have you gotten a coat yet, Ty Lee?

I have one, but I wouldn't mind finding a new one.

It's a bit chillier than last year. You look like you're all set though!

I could go with you if you'd like.

Back home I was prepared for just about everything, even winter.
