LOL creationism

So, as I have probably mentioned before, I'm writing my MSc thesis on the discourse of intelligent design, and as such I'm currently reading and analysing a lot of rage-inducing material. Thankfully, some of it - in addition to being rage-inducing - is pretty fucking funny, so I have decided to share it with you ( Read more... )

your mom goes to college, fail, wtf, quackery

I feel I ought to make some remark mocking your terrible, terrible pun, but I LOLd, so that would be hypocritical of me. XD

I once got to the top of one of those slides and didn't dare come down it. FAIL. There was a huge queue of angry children that my mum had to squeeze past to get me.

Holy shit. Literally. Creationism scares me, angers me and amuses me in decreasing amounts.

The idea of Baramin makes me laugh, because in the game Fallout 3, Brahmin are two headed, ulcerated, mutilated cows who have survived Nuclear Armageddon. Even fucking Brahmin have clearly evolved.

Oh my god. I don't know whether these Brahmin things delight me or disgust me or just weird me out completely. (Also, isn't Brahmin one of the old Indian castes?)

Creationism is truly terrifying. And the more I read, the more I realise how it's all tied up with other right-wing stuff - claiming that climate change isn't real and being against gay marriage and all that stuff. I am now at the point where I can only laugh, because otherwise I start whimpering in a corner. D: D: D:

Now, If my bible knowledge is accurate, I remember that the Behemoth is described as being somewhat akin to a giant bull and there only being one of the blighters. Also, I like the fact that it's supposed to be kosher. Yeah, look out Dippy.

Also, I like how Adam is paying special attention to the Dodo, like that helps prove their point about extinct animals co-existing with humans, and failing to realise that it was the err... descendants of Adam what hunted the Dodo to extinction because they thought that it would be fun to do so.

I love that the behemoth is kosher. Is it there a vegetarian option, I wonder? A triffid, maybe.

Now you mention it, its eyes are particularly boggly. It's probably only staring at Adam like that because it's freaking out over his lack of nipples.

Of course it's different! Evolution is a liberal conspiracy, along with climate change, gaymosexuality and a black president. This is totally different.

... It almost physically hurts to say these words.
