So I guess I have an inconsistent and uneasy sort of relationship with the British royal family. As a general rule I see them as a fairly outdated and unnecessary institution, I don't think it's right that they are funded from public money, I don't particularly buy the argument that they bring in tourism and therefore are necessary for the economy

The stupid thing is that I'm being a total hipster about this, but there are people who genuinely love this crap. Every time an old person dies in a small town the local charity shops are showered with decorative plates. Observe.

(I wouldn't be too surprised if there are "old money" families in New England or the South which have similar huge strings of names. But where I comes from, people have three or four, tops.)

Saying that, yeah, posh people do have a lot of names. But, you know, normal people rarely have more than three. And not having a middle name is pretty common (I've only got a given name and surname).
The Engrish mug is incredible, isn't it? On the back it says "The fairytale romantic union of all the centuries". I love it.
