That thing with Stella and Mrs. Kowalski being friends, is that canon or fanon? I just read a fic where Mrs. Kowalski never liked Stella and I was like - "but! but!" And then I couldn't come up with a reason except, "all the other kids say she does..."

I think it's strongly implied in canon. In Strange Bedfellows, Ray learned about Stella dating whatshisname and that it was serious from his mother.

Hmm. Okay so somehow his mother knew. The most likely reason would be that Stella told her. But who knows, Mrs. Kowalski could have a whole network of busybodies and neighborhood spies.
