No, I didn't. I actually would really like to work for my dad next year if JET doesn't work out. I'll be in Japan a few times, even if I dont' get Fulbright--I'm going for two weeks in August with my parents, but then I fully intend to go around Christmas or some random time in the Spring (2007, not 2006, must graduate first) when the rates on flying randomly drop. One of my friends did that, she went around Thanksgiving for a cheap price and stayed a week. I fully intend to take advantage of my freedom from school (work, I'll have to work around) so skip off a few times and see a concert or three. =p
Also, if I do work for my father's company, we'll be looking into getting some business in Japan, so... I'll be in Japan eventually. ^_^ I may apply for JET next year, who knows.

I do find the doctor paraphenalia a bit on the dodgy side. However, I would also have wondered about seeing you type the word "nipples", Doctor class or not. No really, you know how everyone in Japan carries a handtowel/dishtowel/handkerchief thing around with them everywhere? There are *so many things* you can do with those towels - your towel is one of the few personal accessories you're allowed to play with at school. Tying people up, blinding them, dragging them around, lassooing them, I've seen things man.... Kinky, kinky things. And the teachers just smile and nod and walk on past. Apparently this is normal preteen behavior. It's been so long, John! Is it true?

I'd break it out on the trains here and then "fall asleep" on it. The conductor would probably be too embarrassed to wake me up and ask for a ticket! Embarrassed and afraid... but we all know a little fear is a good thing.
Hello, wandered in here off of jekesta's Friends list, and I wanted to mention something about your House comments. One thing that has been mentioned, and brought up even more often recently, is that House is in constant physical pain. Hence the frequent Vicodin popping, and yes, I do believe the writers to an extent use it as a tool to show his emotionally fucked up issues.
I do also agree that time might be a factor. When I was first thinking about the differences between Joe and House I was thinking about the difference between getting used to a normal existence of either a wheelchair or prosthetic limbs and dragging an injured leg after you all the time. But then I remembered Kerry on ER, and no, they don't make that much of an issue at all, but she's also mentioned not long ago that she's been dealing with that since childhood.
And more importantly than anything else: House is a prick! Of course he's whiny!

Oh, I didn't even think of Kerry! So hmm. Maybe a combination of recentness, pain, House being House, and the writers being metaphor-happy.
