Sorry if this clogs up people's lists, but I was reading an NCIS fic today and in it Tony has all his friends rally round when he's really in dire straights and the author has a character thinking that true friends are there when times are tough

Very true.... in a crisis, I do want to know I can call if I need help but mostly it's slogging through that gets it done. It's when the adrenaline wears off, all the things that got put off now need to be done and I need to just vent that I need the most help....

There's a nice fic there.... hmmm.....

You're right. There have been times where I've needed my friends to give me space to deal with something, but I still knew that they were there if I needed them. And they were there after I worked through it, and are still there for me when I need to talk about it.

It's nice to know you can count on friends during a crisis, but it's even better to know that they're still there when the crisis is over, because sometimes that's when you need them the most.

That's exactly how I feel. Sometimes you feel that those friends are only in it for the drama! There's something rather fulfilling about 'being needed' after all, but I know who my real friends are and they are the ones that I would do absolutely anything for too.
